1980- Pastor Ed DiBlasio was a part of a youth Bible club when a fire began to stir inside to work with children in the inner city.
1986-1990- A bus ministry began with the help of Central Christian Assembly of God so that Pastor Ed could begin transporting children to youth and church services. Solid Rock began to blossom and bless the community.
2007- Mentoring services and housing Ministry Teams from around the world began with the opening of the donated 3,000ft. Ministry house.
2009- The Ministry gained Pastor Ed's wife Gloria, and her two daughters Mollie and Monica.
2015- To date every week, over 400 youth are impacted at Sidewalk Sunday School, youth services, mentoring, and other events held by Solid Rock Ministries and Pastor Ed.
Through many generous supporters such as H&S Bakery, Shoprite, Giant Food, Inc., Walmart, Kmart, Boscov's, Retro Enviornmental, Inc., Rosedale Roofing, Samaritans Feet, The Marines Toys for Tots Program, Central Christian Assembly of God, The Angel Tree Project, and individual donors, a variety of Ministry events are able to flourish and continue to bless those less fortunate.
Not only are bags of food and children's presents delivered throughout the Christmas season and attendance at Summer/Winterfest Youth Conferences opportunities available; but also Easter baskets are distributed in the springtime, hundreds of children's feet are fitted with brand new shoes in the summer months, backpacks are stuffed with school supplies in August, and hundreds of hungry families are fed during the winter months.
This is an outreach program that allows Solid Rock Ministries to go out into four different residential sites in Baltimore city, as well as one in Harford County and serve over 350+ children and adults. Pastor Ed speaks to the heart of the youth, on their level, about current issues relative to youth development.
Mentoring
Pastor Ed and Gloria mentor approximately two dozen children, their siblings, and parents on a one-to-one basis all throughout the week by exposing after school activities, continuing education opportunities, job training, and solving moral dilemmas through spiritual counseling and prayer. Standing in for parents, we transport youth to job interviews, colleges for "Parent Tour Days", assist in completing college applications, grants, and scholarship applications, job applications, and hold mock interviews.
The Ministry House is where teams are housed and furniture, linens, food, and clothing donations are stored until distribution to the needy. Throughout the year, teams ranging in size from 10-50 come from all areas of the world to learn more about 'street ministry' by shadowing Pastor Ed on the streets of Baltimore.
